Time has passed

I woke up this morning and wasn't quite sure where it would take me. I had hoped it would take me to the gym, but you can see that I am not there... I am blogging. This morning before school I was googling spirit wk ideas so that my 7 yr old could turn her ideas in at school and ran across a creatively inspired blog. So here I am signing in 2 yrs later. Where does the time go?! How am I supposed to accomplish all that I have dreamed up in a lifetime? Various reasons...I have been held back for waaaay to long. Through EMDR (I heart) I have began to recover and heal from a lot "setbacks"/traumas that have occurred in the last 10 yrs. 10 yrs...of them. Geez. I am beginning to see that in order to create life I want for myself that I have to be ME, regardless of whatever or whoever chooses to not be true to themselves. I can still embrace and accomplish without being heldback. Co-dependent NO MORE. So now that I've ran through 10's of thousands to arrive here I'm back. Slowly but surely. Dream #1: to have a blog where I am free to be me. The good, the bad, the real, and the creative. Obv I'd love to have thousands of followers that I don't know who are just dying to follow me, but I'll accept my 2 followers for now gladly! And still express myself. No that is not my #1 dream it's just dream #1. We'll see how it goes...

Let me know if you find any foreclosures that need me and my family to move in. call me if you want the court story. it's pretty crazy.

Once, I was a mover and a shaker.

My dear sweet Simone, more of a pet orangutan, has oh so many surprising qualities just like her mother. Last night while trying to get them into bed, I use my "scary mom means business" voice and scream at them to get in bed and stay in bed. (Thinking they're all gonna cry and certainly be too frightened to cross me tonight.) Oh no, not Simoney. She starts cracking up laughing as hard as she can. Savannah, looking at her wondering if she is going to pull this off and how she has the audacity to start laughing at me, stares around the door while Simone keeps laughing. I say, "Aren't I scary? That's not funny." Simone says, (in her toddler accent) "You're funny, not scary at all." So we all proceed to start laughing hysterically and then Simone gets behind me and stands on her bed, which I'm sitting on, and starts singing a song she is making up. "Underwear, underwear, underwear, hmhmhmhm, underwear, underwear, underwear... and so on. I'm astonished that this two yr old possesses the same balls that I have used many of times to take my father on. I have tp'd his bedroom when he asked me to go get his belt so I can be spanked. I have said repeatedly, "I see that smile" and pinched his cheeks while he is disciplining me. I have told him in a black girl voice that I will call 1-800-child-bruce if he spanks me. (in living color) And here it has all come full circle for my dad, which is clearly why he favors Simone and her wild wild ways so much. I too was once a mover and a shaker. Having friends over to Kayak in my parents pool while they are out of town. My stupid drunk friend totaling my car into steak n shake's fence and then staging a hit and run when the police are called. Telling the officer when he asks who hit our car, it was a lawn guy that's why all of the wood is in my grill." Meanwhile, my car is totaled and is supposed to be leaving for Cali the next day so I can move there for school. Hitting a runner and asking him who runs? Sneaking out of my house literally every single night of my jr yr of high school. Stashing vodka in my closet (that was the size of my oldest sister's bedroom) and sitting with my two best friends pre-drinking in my closet before sneaking out. (they hid the tequila in their doll house). I could literally go on and on and on. But I'm frankly, too afraid that God will remember all of these things after he reads this, and prove to me that my kids can really move and shake with the best of them.

Summer

Have no followers yet...that's real sad. Follow me Follow me, seems like I am so used to saying that as a mom. What is it with Summer? It went from being a favorite season to a hated season. Why? You may ask. CHILDREN. I love them, we all do, don't we? They live for the Summer. They get stir crazy hyper. We get lazy and exhausted. Ahhh the Summer time; as you get into your teens/college yrs it means no responsibility, no homework, no consequences (so we think). Concerts, vacation, laying out, drinks with friends, no school, cute beach bodies, hot lifeguards, parties, I could go on and on and on. Then I had kids...and they live to be out of school and I begin to love school. I can't lay out bc I'm constantly chasing them by the pool or helping them swim in the pool. Forget the cocktail via poolside...my 2/3 yr old freaks out when she sees bright drinkable colors. Oh yeah and that beach body I once had, ha it's now walking around on my 5-6 yr old. The only concert I will hear is on a dvd player in the backseat sung by princesses. Just when I think I may be seasonly depressed, they decide to take my favorite show go off the air for the entire Summer labeling it "Season Finale". So not only is it not on air, I now have to stress over my favorite character, is she dead, alive, divorced, or pregnant?! (As if there wasn't enough anxiety going on already from Summer.) So then I begin to look for other outlets, a women's bible study and low and behold, they cancel daycare at the church over the Summer. WHY? Seems like to me that's when a mom needs God the most. School's out, so how does that make sense? Why couldn't life be set up for a long Fall or Spring Break? Why a Summer break? Why take everything away from us after teaching us it's the season of Freedom? They even threw the 4th of July in there to make it SCREAM Freedom. Only to have you grow up one day to fall flat on your face and realize no one told you this would happen and to cherish it while it lasted. And that sooner than we realize we will be stuck looking ridiculous to our teenagers trying to reminise on a Summer of when we were really "cool"and "rebellious". After that we will have our freedom back for good, but will be slaves to our bodies. Thanks to the wrinkles, saggy boobs, leather tans, sun spots, spider veins, and aching bodies. To which we will not be able to be free at all bc of all of our medical conditions. So I guess I should say, Here's to this right now, bc at some point I will look back and want to have what I have right now...bc that's how life rolls.

So here it is, my blog. Serving the purpose of a much needed escape, a night out if you will? Me, my friends who care enough to read about me, and a glass of Sauvigion Blanc. A ten minute break, replacing the ever so popular (going out of style) cigarette break! Welcome. Somewhere in here you will find a glimmer of Lauren, but mostly just updates of her offspring and her whimsically fulfilling life, called Motherhood.
